Alison Treharne – Plymouth – Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society
“I was brought up to look after what you have and to save. I was also brought up reading the Financial Times newspaper but that was a little unusual for a girl of 9. As a Chartered Financial Adviser in Plymouth, I want my clients to understand that financial planning is an essential part of life. If you want to achieve certain things in life, such as owning your own home, funding educational fees or early retirement then you need a plan to get you there. Once I know my clients aims and ambitions I work with them to financially plan for it to happen. My biggest strength is to bring the skill of investment and pension knowledge into that plan. You need a plan for your money; know your destination and I will help you get there.”

This membership level is attained upon successful completion of the PFS Fellowship programme, the highest qualification awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute. Mark Helmke – Cheltenham – Chartered Financial Planner
“Having been involved in the financial planning industry for many years I have seen how good quality financial advice can change people’s lives for the better. Unfortunately, too often the focus is entirely on just the money and without linking finances to lifestyle it is difficult to understand what can be achieved, not only personally but also for future generations.
I am delighted to be able to return to the financial planning world and provide financial planning advice in a way that has real value and meaning.”
Experience
Mark has considerable financial planning experience, having owned a highly successful financial planning practice for 20 years until this was acquired in 2013. The practice achieved accreditation status with the then Institute of Financial Planning for the high standards adopted and the professional manner in delivering financial planning to clients. To achieve this it was also necessary for advisers to have attained Certified Financial Planner (CFP) status, recognised worldwide as the financial planning benchmark, and Mark was one of only 200 in the UK at the time to be a CFP. He is now a Chartered Financial Planner.
Mark has used lifetime cashflow modelling extensively over the years as part of the financial planning process.
Specialities
Mark will continue to use lifetime cashflow modelling to help clients understand how they can use their capital and income resources efficiently to meet lifestyle objectives. Projecting personal cashflows forms the basis of investment and tax planning strategies, both before and during retirement, and these, together with estate planning and passing wealth to future generations, are Mark’s areas of expertise.
